Daniele Mereu

Daniele's passion for food and wine comes from growing up on his family's farm and vineyards just outside of Torino in Piedmont, Italy. He holds a graduate BSc in (FSc) degree (honours) from the University of Gastronomy and Food Science in Pollenzo (home of the slow food movement) and a QFC Level 3 from WSET. Daniele is an avid chef who loves wine and growing his own food. He is a devote follower of the Slow Food Movement and a Culinary Specialist with Sysco. 



Rayna Corner

Rayna is a born and raised Vancouver Islander, and entered the wine world in 2003 as the first tasting room employee at Victoria Estate Winery (now Church & State). The subsequent twenty-ish years have involved stints in other winery tasting rooms, managing a private liquor store with a major wine focus and starting a BC wine agency, selling to Vancouver Island & Gulf Island restaurants and liquor stores.
Rayna is WSET 3 certified (with distinction), as well as having obtained the Wine Scholar Guild’s Master of Champagne designation, as well as French Wine Scholar, Italian Wine Scholar and a Certified Sherry Professional. She is starting her Spanish Wine Scholar studies in 2020.


Jen Sarpe
Jen made a huge career change and decided to pursue her passion for wine. To do this, she powered through WSET (Wine Spirit Education Trust) levels 1 – 4 and now finishing up her diploma in wine. She also holds the Introductory Certification with The Court of Master Sommeliers. Doing all of this in the course of 2 years! Jen now works with the boutique shop, Vine Styles, in Calgary Alberta. She is a lifelong learner with an avid passion for food & wine. 



Larry Arnold

Larry has one of the most experienced palates in Canada. His career in the wine and spirits trade has spanned more than 40 years. His passion for wine led him to working for the British Columbia Liquor Distribution Branch (LDB) in 1986. He co-founded the Victoria Wine Society (1987) and the Sonoma-British Columbia Wine Festival (1989). Beginning in 1990, as Senior Product Consultant at the LDB and Taster on the listing panel, he accessed beverage alcohol submissions for quality and flaws tasting about 1,000 samples in each biannual review. Larry is a winner of the Peter Adams Award for Achievement & Tasting. In 1993 he founded the Pacific Northwest Wine Festival in Victoria and became the Wine Editor for EAT Magazine in 1994, a BC based food and wine publication. After having worked for the LDB for 23 years, Larry joined the private sector. He is currently the Director of Purchasing for the Metro Liquor stores with locations in Western Canada and the United States. Larry has travelled the world extensively, visiting vineyards and cellars, and tasting wines along the way, and he has been a judge in too many wine competitions to mention.
